The Holidays

Zeph was awesome staying over at mom & dads for Christmas. He ate like crazy and slept a lot but we passed him around and around and wailed and slept and did his baby thing and everyone loved it. Lu is incredible, she is totally tuned in to what he needs, and we’re lucky that he’s a good baby. My bro’s comment was the best:
“It’s not fair your five week old slept better than our 20 month old last night.”
His adorable little daughter, she doesn’t like to sleep away from home right now. Their place in the moutains is beautiful and serene, so the chaos of the grandparents place with everyone around is something she’s not used to yet.
Her brother was in his element, though. All the uncles around; presents and movies and fun at every turn, so much stimulation and excitement, it’s no wonder he gets a little fired up. We uncles are much the same. It is incredible to see pieces of my brother and other traits of our family mixed and revealed in O’s ever-growing visage and mind. When he grabs my hands and stares into my eyes as I’m chillin on the couch and does the crazy-eye stare and crazy-insane breathing and we both freak out at each other before dying laughing, I see myself and my brother and my other brother and my dad. My mother’s brother is revealed in him even many branches through the family tree.
It is beautiful and strange and incredible to see revealed.
I can’t wait to see how the whole family mix–from both sides– revealed in our son Zeph.
